If you are distressed please read this poem.

Sleep fails to arrive

My mind is not at ease

I am awake but barely alive

Father draw near to me, please

-

God I want to honor you

I desire to do your will

I know the first thing I should do

Is learn to be still

A Challenge from Psalm 131

Psalm 131 is a short Psalm (only three verses). But it is still powerful.

I encourage you to go read it.

If you have read it I want to draw your attention to verse two which says this:

“But I have calmed and quieted my soul,

like a weaned child with its mother;

like a weaned child is my soul within me.”

Psalm 131:2 (ESV)

Go somewhere quiet and spend time with God. Go somewhere quiet and say to Him “Lord, I am busy with things that do not matter at all in comparison to spending time with you. I have been stressed out and distracted. But in this moment, right now, ‘I have calmed and quieted my soul.’”
